Product Description

4" diameter with spindle, compass, and writing that changes. Made of die-cast metal with genuine brass finish. The Liahona compass was given to Lehi to direct his family through the more fertile parts of the wilderness to the Promised Land. And it came to pass that as my father arose in the morning and went forth to the tent door, to his great astonishment he beheld upon the ground a round ball of curious workmanship; and it was of fine brass. And within the ball were two spindles; and the one pointed the way whither we should go into the wilderness.€? (1 Nephi 16:10) The Liahona only worked according to faith and diligence. When there was disobedience, the spindle stopped working. At times, writing would appear on the Liahona to give us understanding concerning the ways of the Lord.€? Lehi passed it on to Nephi. The Book of Mormon records that it was passed down through Nephite Prophets. King Benjamin gave the Liahona to Mosiah. In the Doctrine and Covenants 17:1 we learn that by faith the Three Witnesses would also be able to see the Liahona.

About the Author

Good workmanship - well done. by Darlene S - reviewed on January 23, 2011 This is not a toy, it is a very nice conversation piece. It is sturdy, well built with movable spindle and compass. The brass finish and workmanship seems almost authentic. The only negative aspect I have is the packaging. It was packaged as a toy, but would have been better displayed in a presentation box. Although this item has a nice looking brass finish it is cheapened by the plastic compass face. by Kelly - reviewed on August 29, 2011 I was able to get this item for half price and am satisfied for what I paid, but would have been disappointed had I paid price. This is somewhere between a nice conversation piece and a toy. I think it would be a good value at about twenty bucks, but not for sixty. Disappointing... by Kelly - reviewed on February 24, 2012 This is something that has great potential of being a really unique item, but instead the cheep plastic look to it was a total disappointment and for $50. One of my most favorite items to gift! by Customer - reviewed on September 21, 2011 Well made. Solid and heavy. Beautiful decoration.
